Since the HTC-Highroad disband, the time trial specialist František Raboň hasn’t put in many race kilometers. “The team wanted me to fly to Canada but I didn’t go as I would have ridden only two races and I wouldn’t have had enough time to get acclimatized,” Raboň said.

“I´m finalizing my preparations for the Worlds. I was riding with Roman (Kreuziger) and Standa (Kozubek) for ten days as we practiced in the surroundings of Pilsen and the Šumava mountains. Unlike Roman I rode more often on my time trial bike. The results of my last test have shown that I´m on form and that I´ve done a lot of hard work towards the Worlds. I spent between five and six hours on the bike every day, which is quite a lot in this period of the season but I´m really motivated,” Raboň said.

He has received some information about the course of the road race from his longtime sports director Brian Holm who comes from Copenhagen. “The course isn’t particularly tough and the corners aren’t dangerous. Many circumstances can affect the race, though, like the rain for example but the course should suit me,” added Raboň who were quite specific about his plans.

“I´d like to improve my best world championship result, which is 16th place. Winning a medal would make my dream come true and since the riders who will finish in top ten will earn a place at the Olympic race in London I´m really motivated,” Raboň revealed.
